After two consecutive weekends of strikes and lots of name-calling and mud-slinging back and forth…the battle between British Airways and the Unite union still hasn’t been resolved. According to the Wall Street Journal, CEO Executive Willie Walsh said on Wednesday that striking cabin crew and Unite have failed in their efforts to ground the airline, though there remains the risk of further industrial action in April.BA and Unite have been battling for the past year over how to save the airline money. In an advertisement that appeared Wednesday in British national newspapers, Walsh said the union had failed to ground the airline in March by taking industrial action, adding the carrier still managed to fly during the strike period over 80 percent of the customers who originally had booked with BA as 60 percent of cabin crew ignored the strike call.Walsh has called on Unite to allow its members to vote on the current offer, which was tabled before strikes began.
